Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Mix ingredients:
    In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir well to combine.
  2. Add spices:
    Add smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  3. Cook:
    Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Simmer:
    Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and flavors meld together.
  5. Cool & store:
    Remove from heat and let the sauce cool. Transfer to a jar or airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
